Mackay-based
Family-owned solar specialists
Six months on the ground, decades of combined trade experience installing across the Mackay region.
48-hour fixed-quote turnaround for Mackay businesses.
What we stand for
Four things we will not compromise on.
-
No subcontractors
Every installer, electrician and commissioner on your roof is directly employed by Next Phase Solar. No offshore call centres, no day-rate subbies.
-
Numbers, not pitches
Quotes use AEMO interval data and a three-scenario PDF with NPV, payback and sensitivity. We will not push a system you cannot justify on a spreadsheet.
-
Local accountability
Mackay-based. If something fails, we drive out. Same supervisor on every shift, named on the safety plan you receive at signing.
-
Performance guarantee
If the installed system under-delivers by more than 10 percent against modelled output, we remediate at our cost. Written into the contract before you sign.
Our story
Next Phase Solar is new on paper. The crew behind it is not. The bulk of the technical experience walks in with Brad, our head technician.
2001
Brad starts his electrical apprenticeship
Brad begins a four-year electrical trade apprenticeship in regional QLD. The base of every solar install he does today comes from that grounding in switchboards, three-phase and commercial wiring.
2010
Brad moves into solar
After nearly a decade of straight electrical contracting, Brad pivots to solar PV. From here on every year is residential and commercial installs across QLD, from single-phase rooftop systems to multi-string commercial arrays.
2025
Next Phase Solar is founded in Mackay
Maxine and Brad team up to start Next Phase Solar as a Mackay-owned operator. The pitch is simple: 15+ years of installer experience, no subcontractors, no out-of-town crews, and every quote backed by actual numbers.
2026
Three service lines live
Commercial solar, residential solar with batteries, and commercial electrical, all delivered by the same Mackay crew that does the quoting.
The crew behind your install
Same crew that quotes is the crew that installs.

What our customers say
Reviews from real Mackay businesses and homes.
Brad and the team installed a 27 kW system on our shed roof in three days. Quote was the third we got and the only one with a payback breakdown I could actually understand. Bill dropped from $1,800 to $340 the first quarter.
Replaced our old 6 kW with a 13 kW plus Tesla battery. Crew were on time every day, cleaned up the site, and walked me through the monitoring app on handover day. Three weeks later the export limit paperwork came through with zero chasing.
Quoted for a switchboard upgrade and three-phase wiring at our workshop. Got the AS/NZS test certificates with the handover pack, RPEQ stamped. Nothing I had to chase up after. Will book them for the solar phase 2 next FY.
Asked three installers for a commercial quote on our cold storage facility. Next Phase was the only one that asked for our interval data before quoting. The other two pitched random kW numbers. Their PDF had NPV, payback and a sensitivity band, exactly what we asked for.
Storm took out two panels and damaged a rail. Brad came out Monday morning, replaced the panels under manufacturer warranty within the week. No drama, no upsell on extra work, no chasing the insurance for me.
Honest sizing advice. We were ready to oversize the system and they talked us down to a 10 kW match for our daytime load, with batteries to come later. Saved us about $9k upfront and the payback math is still under six years.
